Calendula oil

 How we made calendula oil.

In our garden we have alot of flowers. Mum likes calendulas as the bees like them, and you can eat calendula or make oil. When our calendulas go to seed we pick the seed and sprinkle in other areas of our garden.

We picked the calendula flowers in the morning.

There are different colors of calendula flowers.

We got a clean glass jar, then we picked the petals off the calendulas and half filled the jar with the petals, then we filled the jar up with olive oil.

We leave the petals in the jar with the oil for 6 weeks, then we will strain off the petals and can use the calendula oil on our skin or we can put the oil in our bath.

Mum has a green house so we are going to grow sunflowers.

  1. That is very interesting Ante is Calendula oil good for skin problems since you put it in the bath? Growing sunflowers will be fun we grew them in pukeko class over summer there are lots of different types and colours from giant and dwarf varieties.

  3. Thank you so much for sharing your Garden - it must be stunning when the flowers are in full bloom. You have been busy making the jars of Calendula Oil - it was very thoughtful of you to tell us how we can make the oil. Are the flowers nice too eat - what do they taste of ? Do you have any plans for the Sun Flowers ??? If we have "Whanau In The Park" this year, your class can make jars of this fabulous Calendula Oil to sell - and you should be the Team Leader !

  4. Awesome Ante
I found this very interesting. I'm always looking for natural remedies and I know Calendula oil has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that might make it useful in healing wounds, soothing eczema, and relieving diaper rash. Thank you so much for sharing😀

  5. Well done Ante, I have seen calendula oil before in bottles in the pharmacy but was always unsure what you could use it for, and now you have told me so thanks for that. I love all the pics mum has taken of you and your little brother, it makes me smile because I also like flowers.
